Sawdust Festival

For this project it wasn’t hard putting it together, but it did take me a while to find a picture that I would use to use as an outline, one to blend with my gradient and one to insert into the outline. I chose California as my outline because it’s the state where the art show is taking place, and I used the rocky background because of the artwork I inserted into the outline. Usually roses love to grow around stones, and I thought it gave a feel for California also. I chose to make my gradient the way it looks because it makes the images stand out more. The outline of California and the roses, which are both pink contrast against the black, but not so much that it looks out of place, because the inserted picture also has some black. The title was meant to look artsy and the line below that to be simplistic, so that they would both stand out but they don’t take appeal from the image, instead they bring everything together. For paragraphs I used fonts and proportion to make everything look nice and not crammed up, considering it was a lot of information to fit in. As for my anchored inline objects, I chose to make them little white suns so they would stand out against the black background and they would make people think of California as sunny.

Company Logo

The reason I chose to base my design on a computer is that these designs that the company is going to make will be made with computer programs, and when people think of computers they think of high technology because of how rapidly the technology industry is growing. So what better way is there than to have your designs made with the highest technology in designing? I chose colorful colors to make the logo more attractive and to show that this company isn’t your boring ordinary company. The colors make the people feel more confident in coming to this company because they will want their designs to stand out too, just like this logo stands out. I made it simple but I think it’s effective. If a logo has too much in its design, the person looking at the logo will feel overwhelmed and not think twice about ignoring it. The reason I inserted the name of the company into the logo along with the half sun design is that when a person look at a half circle which is made partly by the spikes, they look at where it ends and where it begins. Once they look at the ends, the will see the name of the company which is in the center of the computer screen and cause them to look at the rest of the design as a whole. If they glance at the logo even for a sec, they will see the company name, and there curiosity will cause them to get closer to read the smaller letters. I believe the whole logo design will do what Creative Concepts wanted, which is to attract people.

Calender Cover

The main focus of this design was to make it look friendly and sweet in hopes that this calendar will give people the feeling that they should adopt a pet in need. To accomplish this I used colors that were easy on the eyes, such as creamy color. On the front of the calendar I used the picture of the cross and the heart to symbolize that religion, and how they feel about adopting a pet, are somehow connected. All of the pictures contain people and their pets to give a since of happiness. Even though taking care of pets is hard work, with these pictures people won’t think of that at the moment. I put a light gray border around the fact because if I left it off, the fact stood out too much, and if I made it dark, it stood out too much. I wanted it to be seen but not be the main focus of the page. I used the correct days for the year 2012. I picked 2012 just because it is the next year, and I put dotted boxes around where the coupons are going to go to show that she should be cut off. The borders I used around the pages were just something simple and easy used to give the calendar a little more appeal. This calendar is cheap to make but I think It would increase the number of pet adoptions.

Menu Page 1 Menu Page 2

I chose to make this menu a trifold because I already had the template and there was a lot of information to work with. I chose to leave the logo/name in the middle with two pictures so the space and color bring the attention of the customer to the theme of the restaurant. Then they can look to the sides and start looking for something to order. I also put the address and number of the restaurant right under the logo so they’re easy to find, and also placed the logo and the address at the end of the menu so they take a second look at the logo and the address and number as they look at the last items on the menu. The fonts that I used combined with the justification give the menu items a sharp clean look which won’t cause any problem when the brochures are folded. The pictures of the people just add to the Hollywood theme and the pictures of the food just show that it is a food menu so there’s no confusion.

Business Flyer

For the business flyer I decided to go with the crispy clean professional look. I did this by adding no more than a couple of my customized cars, which are an import and a muscle car, and a few bright colors. One of the lines that runs from the top to the bottom on the right side of the flyer is to separate the examples of the products used from what can be done to customers’ cars and the name brands of the products used. I gave each item a good bit of space, because I think if you put too much on a flyer, customers could get confused and get frustrated, causing the business to lose money. The border was just used to give the flyer an edgy look designed to look like spray paint. I included the contact info in the corner because first the customer will want to know what your business has to offer, then if it interests them, they will look for this info on your flyer no matter where it is.

Rap CD

In the design for the music cd cover I went with the fancy font along with the crown I drew up to show that the artist is high up and important. The font is also used by a lot of rap artist which is what the cover was for. The warning at the bottom is to avoid any lawsuits and let the listener know this cd is going to have explicit content such as cursing or worse. I loved the way the color brought the whole theme together. They gave the right proportion of color to make the design flow smoothly. For the back I included what cd’s usually include, which is the time the songs last, the recording company logo, the bar code, and the barcode, which is usually next to the barcode. I used bright colors to make the logo stand out because second to the artist, the recording company also wants to be noticed.

Beer Logo

The company logo was the most complicated because you have to be okay at using the pen tool. I chose to make the logo for the brewery company. Since it's a company that exports beer all over the world I chose to make a beer mug with a picture of the world behind it. The colors go well together to catch attention and be smooth at the same time. Proportion in size and distance was importnat in this design. I wanted it to be compact, but at the same time I wanted to get the message across to the customers, and I put the name of the company on a path to make it seem like the company name is wrapping around the world to symbolize their slogan in the logo.
